The Association of Women

in Water, Energy and Environment

was established in 2007 as a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the advancement of education of women in our fields.  AWWEE achieves its mission by providing multiple venues for learning, sharing and growth.

AWWEE's first year of operations was 2009.  Since that time, AWWEE has conducted more than 50 regional events for 1,000 AWWEE members, friends and colleagues.  The list of past events can be found here.

AWWEE conducts most of its activities through a vibrant volunteer network of professional women in our industries.  Its regional events are developed and conducted by Regional Leadership Teams in Sacramento, San Francisco, Los Angles, Orange County, and San Diego.  Organizational members and other supporters contribute meeting space, speakers and refreshments for our regional events.  AWWEE is managed by a 7-person Founding Board of Directors

AWWEE has conducted two conferences.

The first AWWEE conference was held in San Diego in 2009.

Our second conference was held last year in Burlingame.

The conference brochures can be downloaded from this site.  Speaker bios and presentations for our 2011 conference are available here.

One of the greatest benefits reported by our members is the ability to meet and work with other women in our fields that they may never otherwise have had the opportunity to meet.

Many of the nation's leading women in our fields generously donate their time to share  experiences, insights and lessons learned with AWWEE members through our signature "Paths to Power" workshops.
