The City of Los Angeles is in the process of developing a package of policies and programs to improve the energy and water efficiency of Los Angeles’ existing buildings. These efforts are key to meeting the City’s aggressive GHG reduction goals since 51% of Los Angeles’ carbon emissions come from buildings.  Leading the design of many of these policies and programs is Mrs. Hilary Firestone, Senior Project Manager in the office of Mayor Garcetti.  Hilary is a native of New York and was involved with former Mayor Bloomberg’s highly ambitious and successful Greener, Greater Buildings Plan.  Hilary will describe the City of LA’s program and include how her background and experience has allowed the city to embark on a very successful stakeholder input process that played a significant role in the design of the program.
