Please join AWWEE for an evening all about wine at the Teaching and Research Winery and August A. Busch Brewing & Food Science Lab at the University of California, Davis.

We’ll begin with a brief discussion of the concept and construction of the LEED Platinum facility and then have a tour of the facility that highlights its energy-efficient and water-efficient features (including a large-scale rainwater reuse system, CO2 capture in the winery, and 152 specialized research fermenters). We’ll conclude with (of course!) wine and a chance for you to mingle with other event participants.

The event will be led by Julianne Nola, Assistant Director of Project Management for Major Capital Projects at UC Davis. Her interest in sustainability has helped her manage the recently completed LEED Platinum certified Brewery, Winery and Food Science Lab which won R&D Magazine’s 2010 Lab of the Year and the three building student housing complex expected to receive LEED Gold in April 2011.
