Riverside public works staff will present on electrical power generation using biogas via cogeneration, fuel cell, and “grease-to-Gas processes”.  Additionally, we will learn about the conversion of bio solids to E-Fuel as well as recycled water production.

RPU staff will present on Riverside’s local power generation.  Specifically, we will hear about RPU’s local generating plants called “peakers”, and learn why they are vital to our energy needs.  We will also see and learn about the technology- jet engines help to power our City!

Presenter Gary Valladao:
  • Wastewater Systems Manager, City of Riverside Public Works Department
  • Over 30 years in the Water and Wastewater Utility Field
  • BS Chemistry, MS Environmental Management, MBA Public Administration
  • Grade V Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

Presenter Chuck Casey:

  • Utility Generation Manager, City of Riverside Public Utilities
  • Chuck started his career in the US Navy as a nuclear technician aboard submarines
  • Then moved to his civilian employment at GE as a plant operator advancing to plant manager. 
Registration: Free for all members, $35 for non-members and $5 for non-member students.

Security: RERC is a gated facility.  When you arrive please use the call box to be allowed into the facility.
